Mitchell Golf Equipment Institute Publishes 2011 Schedule Of New Classes

Mitchell® Golf Equipment Institute has published its 2011 school schedule for popular training schools. The new schedule expands the number of schools offered and puts a new focus on golf equipment performance using the latest technology.

Mitchell-certified training schools include the industry’s most current and updated curriculum for advanced training. They are designed and taught by PGA members with over 100 years of practical industry experience and years of success operating golf businesses.

Ed Mitchell, a 43-year PGA member and owner of Mitchell Golf, says, “Every golf industry professional should learn how to add golf club performance services to their operation. Golf instructors, club fitters and head professionals can enhance their role in golf through continuing education offered at our Institute.”

Mitchell Golf has teamed up with several Technology Partners, offering students an opportunity to work with and learn club repair and club fitting using the industry’s leading equipment, such as Flight Scope, Tomi, Zenio, Mizuno, Callaway, Cleveland, KZG, Miyazaki, True Temper, Grafalloy, Golf Pride, Swing Science, Balance-Certified, Putter’s Edge, The Putting Arc, Z-Factor and others.

The Club Repair Performance Technology School teaches recognized tour van techniques using Mitchell Golf’s professional-grade tools and machines. Students learn how to repair, assemble and build golf clubs and develop the required bench skills to be an expert repair technician.

The Shaft Performance Technology School is an advanced shaft performance school with an emphasis on how to compare shaft performance characteristics, and then use the data to fit shafts for better playing results.

The Club Performance Fitting Technology School is offered an expanded curriculum using popular launch monitors. Students learn how golf club performance influences ball flight and how to fit by comparing golf club performance numbers.

The Putter Performance Fitting Technology School combines putter fitting and putting stroke techniques and analysis using putter monitors, counterbalancing, training aids and putting drills to achieve the best performance fit, and the proper stroke and ball roll results.

Bill Kumle, PGA Professional and Director of Instruction, states, “Our schools offer a great opportunity for industry professionals to expand their businesses when our economy demands new approaches to customer service. With golf equipment sales lagging, it is time to provide club repair performance upgrades as a new profit centre.”
