Meet Your Instructors At Mitchel Golf

Patrick Gallagher, PGA, and Wesley Turner serve as the lead instructors for the Mitchell Golf Performance Schools. Together, they bring decades of combined experience in professional golf, club fitting, club building, manufacturing, and golf equipment education.

Patrick Gallagher, PGA

Patrick Gallagher

A 20-year PGA of America Member, he serves as Director of Sales & Golf Operations and has built a career spanning nearly every facet of the golf industry. A graduate of Campbell University’s Professional Golf Management Program, Patrick has worked at premier golf facilities developing extensive expertise in golf instruction, club fitting, equipment technology, and customer service.

At Mitchell Golf, he is dedicated to educating golf professionals, club builders, and fitters on advanced club performance principles while helping golfers achieve their highest level of performance through proper equipment fitting and builds.

Wesley Turner

Wesley Turner Mitchell Golf Equipment

Wesley Turner has been with Mitchell Golf since 2017 and serves as the company’s Lead Builder & Instructor. With extensive hands-on experience in club assembly, repair, loft and lie adjustment, frequency matching, and equipment manufacturing, Wesley brings a practical, technician-focused perspective to every class. He has played an integral role in building and servicing the same professional-grade equipment trusted by PGA and LPGA Tour technicians worldwide. His expertise ensures students gain the confidence and precision required to perform professional-level club building and repair techniques.

 

Industry-Leading Instruction

Since relocating to Michigan in 2017, Patrick and Wesley have worked together to educate golf professionals, club fitters, and club builders from around the world through the Mitchell Golf Performance Schools. Their instruction combines classroom theory with extensive hands-on training, emphasizing the principles of precision club fitting, club performance, repair, and assembly. Students leave with practical skills they can immediately apply in their shops, fitting studios, and golf facilities, along with a deeper understanding of how properly fit equipment improves golfer performance.

Mitchell Golf’s Master Building with Intro to Fitting

Mitchell Golf’s Master Building with Intro to Fitting is an intensive four-day training program designed to develop complete club building skills. Held at Mitchell Golf Headquarters in Albion, MI, the course combines technical instruction, hands-on practice, and real-world insights from industry professionals. Participants will learn proper disassembly, re-gripping, assembly, and advanced techniques such as shaft puring, putter bending, and stamping. The program concludes with a custom build project, personalized feedback, and the awarding of the Mitchell Golf Master Builder Certificate recognizing professional-level proficiency in club repair and assembly.

Course Outline

Day 1 – Introduction to Fitting & Tour

· Fundamentals of fitting using swing weight, length, frequency meter, and loft/lie measurements

· Tour of Albion Machine & Tool to connect manufacturing with gauge design

Day 2 – Club Disassembly & Preparation

· Removing heads (safe graphite shaft pulling techniques)

· Re-gripping methods and adhesive application

· Cleaning, ferrule turning, and shaft cutting

Day 3 – Assembly & Advanced Techniques

· Dry build and final assembly practices

· Putter bending and stamping

· Shaft puring and alignment

· Vendor relationships and small-shop business planning

Day 4 – Final Build & Graduation

· Complete your custom build project

· Receive personalized feedback and your Mitchell Golf Builder Certificate

Certification Participants earn the Mitchell Golf Master Builder Certificate, recognizing their ability to professionally repair and assemble custom clubs.

We do suggest that you arrive the day before your class begins, as we will begin each day at 8 am.

  • Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW): 90 minutes/80 miles
  • Grand Rapids Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR): 2 hours/93 miles
  • Lansing Capital Region Airport (LAN): 75 minutes/60 miles
  • Toledo Express Airport (TOL): 2+ hours/95 miles
  • If you’re booking a charter flight, there are smaller airports in the area, as well. Jackson County Airport – Reynolds Field is just 12 miles/20 minutes away.
