Getting To Know: Tom Carr

If you’ve ever used a Mitchell Golf Angle Machine then you have an idea about the degree of precision and attention to detail that goes into building our machines. Tom Carr, our head of production, is the man tasked with making sure every one of our devices are built to the high quality standards that we demand. Tom has been a craftsman his entire life. He started out studying auto body at Stiver Patterson co-op, went on to become an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. When issues with carpel tunnel required Tom to make a career change, Tom started with Mitchell Golf at our original facility in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio in 1999. This month marks the 18th anniversary of the start of Tom’s career with Mitchell Golf.

Tom has been a crucial team member during Caster Concept’s acquisition of Mitchell Golf. Since operations have been moved to our new home in Albion, Michigan he has taken over responsibilities in shipping as well as even taking on the occasional customer service call.

When Tom is at home he enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, and his three adult children Cody, Ashley, and Brandon and his four granddaughters Kaylyn, Summer, Autumn, and Allana. He also applies his mechanical knowledge in his passion for American muscle cars. In addition to collecting these machines he also races them! His current project involves upgrading the engine of his IROC Camaro to give the vehicle around 1,000 horsepower. When Tom isn’t racing down the track he can be found fulfilling his need for speed on his speedboat, which he occasionally slows down long enough to fish.
